Abroad Travel

Abroad Travel

When classics where written thousands of years ago travelling abroad or even going to far-off lands was considered a taboo. With this perception, one should understand the implications of the yoga which suggests that a native may visit/travel or settle abroad.

The parameters for abroad travel or immigration is as follows:

1. 3rd lord/house (short travel)
2. 7th lord/house (business travels)
3. 9th lord/house (Long journeys)
4. 12th lord/house (displacement from place of stay)
5. 4th lord/house (present place of stay)
6. Rahu/Ketu (Mlechcha Grahas – represents foreign lands and people)

When 3rd/7th/9th lords are strong and are associated with fast moving planets travel should be predicted.  Also if the 3rd/7th/9th house fall in a chara rasi (movable sign) then travel should be predicted.  Here as said above the purpose of travel gets modified depending on the lord and on the type of planets influencing it.

For example, when Rahu influences then there would be travel abroad to places where non-vegetarian food is used.  It also suggests that the cultural practices would be different from the place from which the native hails.  In simple words it is a change a Villager experiences when he/she enters New York (USA).

Shift residence from one city to another within a certain distance is seen from the 3rd house (12th from the 4th).  But if the displacement is for a far-off place then the influence of the 12th lord or house is a very important factor. If benefic planets are aspecting this change then the change would be profitable and vice-versa.

If there is a strong dhana yoga in a chart with the influence of the 12th lord on the 2nd then it should be understood that the native may get profits from foreign lands and if there is travel associated then one should understand that there would be immigration to foreign land.

Here transit of Jupiter and Saturn plays an important role to understand the timing of travel.  In cases of immigration one common query is to whether the native will be immigrating alone or he will be able to take his family with him.  In this case, we need to analyse the position of the 2nd lord and the 2nd house.  If there is sufficient bhava bala in the 2nd and the Dasha/bhukti is favourable then one should suggest that the native will be able to take his family members along with him to foreign lands.

For example, if Saturn is transiting over the 2nd bhava (which signifies food) then one should understand that the native will be deprived of home food and hence would have to eat out (outside food from eateries). This may be for a temporary period or may extend to 2 to 3 years if the 2nd lord is badly posited in the natives chart.

Some usual queries with regard to abroad travel are:

1.     I am trying to get immigration to a country but am not able to make it through. When will I be able to go abroad?

Ans.: In many charts the 9th lord may not be favourably posited or would not be influencing the 12th.  Though the native is trying hard with all his effort, there may not be success in the getting immigration.  Calculation using Tajaka principles will be able to give more accurate timing.  Using the formulae suggested in Ithasala yoga will help in determining as to whether the native will be successful in the present year or not.

Strong 9th and 12th lords give the native profitable travels and also immigration.  If the 4th house is weaker than the 10th and the 9th and 12th lords are favourably posited that then native will get a work permit and later will settle down in a foreign country.

Strong Jupiter in the lagna, Jupiter in the 4th, lagna lord strongly posited in the 4th, Lagna bala and 4th house bhava bala are strong, etc. will not allow a person to immigrate abroad, until and unless, there is a stronger 12th/9th influence.

Owning a House

Owning a House

Its a dream for every individual to own a house. Some times house building becomes easy and the native with good planetary positions will not go through any pain in the process of building or in the process for shifting into the property.  But, in many cases it is not easy at all.  There is a local saying which says "Building a House is as difficult as getting your daughter married to the right person".

The parameters for owing a house are:

1. Mercury (Signifies land/plot)
2. Jupiter (Signifies Air)
3. Mars (Signifies Earth)
4. 4th house and its lord (signify the place of stay)
5. Venus (Signifies architecture/design/luxury)

When lagna (ascendant) signifies place of birth, the 4th from it signifies the place of stay.  To buy a landed property it is required that in a horoscope, the placement of Mercury plays an important role.  Its influence on the 4th house or the 4th lord will give the native a strong chance to own a landed property in its dasha period.

The transit of Saturn and Jupiter on the 4th / 10th makes the 4th strong (if they both are not retro).  Only in some cases a retro Jupiter will help in buying property which is far away from the natives birth place.  Like an NRI buying a land in India or vise-versa.

If there is a strong influence of natal Jupiter (Jupiter in the horoscope) on the 4th house or the 4th lord, then the native will buy a flat (elevated from ground) in an apartment.  Jupiter signifies elevated lands and an elevated seat.  It also signifies big and spacious buildings.

Venus's influence on the 4th will give artistic touch to the property.  The native will hire architects to build the house and hence the house will be luxurious and beautiful.

If the 6th house is influenced by the 4th lord or vice-versa, then the native will build the house after borrowing loan from financial institutions.

Mars plays an important role as to buying a large landed property, wherein the native may plan to build a house and use the rest of the land for business.  Mars is taken to be a natural malefic, but in the case of house building, Mars and Rahu are considered good, since they represent accumulation of material wealth.

If the native has a favourably posited Saturn in his chart, then there will not be any labour problem.  But, in the case wherein Saturn is ill posited or debilated, then there would be delay in the construction due to labour problems.

Will be discussing about Ancestral property in later blogs.

FAQ's of Marriage

FAQ’s of Marriage
1.       When will I get married?

Astrological parameters to be checked are: 7th Lord and 7th House, Maha dasha planet (Majorperiod) and Antar dasha Planet (Sub period),  Transit of Jupiter and Saturn, 5th lord and 9th lord, Navamsha Kundali (D-9 Divisional Chart).

If the 7th lord is strongly placed with a favourable planetary dasha and also a strong influence on the 7th house (bhava) by the transiting planets Jupiter/Saturn, then there is a very good chance that the native will get married in that period or will get engaged.

If there is support of the 5th lord and the 9th lord, then the native will fall in love with his spouse before marriage (in case of arranged marriage) or will go through a successful love marriage which is blessed by both the parents.

The ascendant should have fallen in a benefic amsa in D-9.  Venus should be well placed (karaka for marriage).    Karaka means “one who signifies.”

2.       Will I be happy after marriage?

Everyone wants a happy marriage. This is a question which is asked the most by parents when they are seeking a spouse for their son or daughter. They want to know whether their son/daughter will be happy after his/her marriage.

The parameters for a happy married life is not easy to be listed.

But, generally, for a good and stable marriage, Jupiter and Venus play an important role in ones chart.  Their placement will suggest as to whether there is spark in the married life or not.

The 7th house should be void of malefic and it should not be flanked by malefic planets (planets should not be posited on either side i.e. both in the 6th and 8th)

The lagnadhipati (ascendant lord) should be strong and the trik stanas (6-8-12 houses) should be void of planets or only malefic planets should be posited there.

Kendra lords and Kendras (Quadrants) should be well posited.

After all these parameters are satisfied, there are more parameters which have to be checked and since it is a detailed study all the parameters cannot be listed here.

3.        I am in love and will I marry him/her?

Marrying the person whom you love would be the most beautiful thing that has happened in your life. Not all love affairs end up in marriage.

Parameters for a love marriage: 5th house/lord for romance, 7th house/lord for an intimate affair and the 9th house/lord for elders blessing/approval.

Most of the time we see that the couple who love each other are in the fear of disagreement from their parents.  It’s very rare that both the boy’s and the girl’s parents agree to the marriage.

The agreement of parents is seen form the 9th house and the 9th lords position in the chart.  If the 9th lord is strong and is aspecting the 7th house or the 7th lord then there will be elders blessing.

If the 5th is well placed with aspect of Venus then there will be a romantic love affair.  If there is an affliction of Mars on the 5th house, then there will be an affair which may not be that romantic but will be more intimate.

4.       My marriage is going through a rough patch, will it patch up or how many years should I suffer?

If there are malefic influences on the 7th and their (that planets) dasha is in progress, then the marriage will be going through ups and downs.

If the transiting Jupiter becomes retro over the 7th house or the 7th lord then there will be a temporary misunderstanding between the couple.

If one can see a good period in the future which will be a benefic planet and that planet is well placed in the horoscope, then the native will come out of the suffering and the marriage will patch up.

But, in the same scenario, if there is a malefic dasa of a slow planet like Saturn, Rahu or Ketu  then there is a chance that the marriage will break up.

The following dasha periods are not good for a stable marriage.
a)      Jupiter / Saturn
b)      Jupiter/ Venus
c)       Saturn/Rahu
d)      Rahu/Mercury
e)      Sun/Ketu or Sun/Rahu

It is always important to conduct a marriage when both the boy and the girl are not going through the dasha systems which are listed above. Also the upcoming dasha period should not be the above ones. It is difficult to adhere to these rules due to many factors, of which aging is the most important factor.

If there is a beneficial dasha following the time of query, one should give the native a hope of reconcile.

If the lagnadhipati is weakly disposed and the 7th lord is strong with malefic influences, then the native may have to go through this till the dasha/antardasha becomes favourable.

The transits of Saturn and Jupiter play an important role in this case. A benefic Jupiter will give good financial gains and a benefic Saturn will give a sane mind.  Both of these factors help a marriage to be stable.

5.       I have gone through a divorce. Can I remarry and when is that?

This is also one of the common queries now-a-days.
The parameters for second marriage are: The 9th house and lord, Venus, Mars and the transits of Jupiter and Saturn.

The 9th house represents the second marriage (3rd from the 7th house – bhavat bhava principle).  A strong 9th lord will give a stable and happy second marriage.  Also the placement of benefics like Venus/Jupiter in the 9th will help.

The Maha dasha lord and the Antar dasha lord will help in deciding the timing of marriage and the quality of married life in their period.

The placement of Mars is important in this case.  Mars gives the hope in life and hence in cases of depression after the divorce of the first marriage a benefic Mars aspect will be helpful for revival.  The native will make up his/her mind to get into another relationship after garnering courage.
